Frequently Asked Questions
-
What material are your sheets made of?
Our sheets are made with a unique blend of 48% TENCEL and 52% cotton, woven together to create a sheet that is unparalleled in softness and breathability.
-
What is TENCEL™?
TENCEL™ is a fabric made from the pulp of Eucalyptus trees. It is very breathable and does not trap heat. One of its main properties is its ability to wick away moisture to keep you dry at night.
-
What is Sateen?
Sateen fabric is made using a satin weave, but using spun yarn instead of filament. This creates a softer feel to the sheets to maximize comfort.
-
What is Percale?
Percale is a tightly woven fabric that is very breathable. It feels crisp and smooth and does not feel as silky as Sateen.
-
What Certifications do Molecule Sheets have?
Our sheets are OEKO-TEX® 100 certified, so you can rest easy. For more information about OEKO-TEX® standards, click here.
-
Are Molecule Sheets organic?
Bed sheets must be treated with chemicals to be cleaned and dyed upon manufacturing. The cotton may be grown organically, but by the time the sheets reach you they must be treated in one way or another. However, our sheets are sustainable and the factory processes are all OEKO-TEX® Certified.
-
Do Molecule sheets shrink?
You can expect very little shrinking - approximately 1-2%. This is because we want the sheets to still fit perfectly after the first wash. From there, your sheets should fit perfectly after every wash.
-
How do I care for my sheets?
To prolong the life of your sheet system, Molecule recommends washing separately from other laundry. Gentle cycle in cold water, and tumble dry on low-heat setting. Do not over-dry. Remove from dryer, smooth, and fold. Tencel™ helps keep sheets wrinkle-free.
-
Will your sheets only work on a Molecule mattress?
While the sheets go perfectly with our mattress, the Molecule sheets were made to create a favorable environment for deep sleep on any mattress.
-
What finishes are used on your sheets?
Bed sheets need a standard finish in order to bring you that perfect, soft feel. Sheets that are not treated are unsanitary and rough. We use the lightest amount of finish on our sheets to provide you the perfect, clean bed sheet. In truth, all sheets or textile processing has chemicals on them. All chemicals & dyes used for our sheets meet the OEKO-TEX® 100 standards for being safe and earth friendly. These chemicals are used to sanitize our sheets and make them soft to the touch, as this is an industry standard. Rest assured, your sheets are perfect for those with sensitive skin or allergies.
For the perfect fit, pick the following:
Standard/Deep
If your mattress is less than 14" thick.
Extra Deep
If your mattress is between 14"-17" thick.
